Pray for Jeff and Jayne and Laynee Jo

We didn't get a good report from the doctor yesterday regarding the MRI. Looks like the radiation has done nothing and the tumor may have gotten larger. We're still waiting for more info from the doctors. Please continue to hold them up...it's been a rough couple of days here. We are hoping for brighter days ahead. Thanks....

The Elgersma Branch

We gathered with mother's side this weekend. Uncle Butch and Aunt Ev were visiting, so we got together at Auntie Carol's house. Just like the old days. Except we have waaaaay more little people running through the crowd. But that's ok, we can handle that....it was fun. Gramma Josie would have loved it...am I right, cousins?

These are some of the "greats" that were there (that's what Gramma called them)

....and there were some of the the "not so great"

I hate tag.....

I've been tagged by my dear cousin, Becky and by the by, I hate games, just so you know...especially tag ok here are the rules: 1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts. 2. You must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. 3. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.
KAY

BBBBBBBIrthdays

Mother and I both celebrated ours last week. Also, a big HB to Nate Heilkema, who celebrated his on the 13th. We ventured to a place called Ruby's for breakfast on Saturday morning...the whole crew.
They did the obligatory happy birthday free sundae thing for mom, cuz I hate that. Confused poor Dalaynee. She thought everybody liked birthday cake and candles....she'll learn. So, it was fun, got some cute cards (one with music in it from Susie) and some nice pictures. The only bad thing was I had to turn another year older.....oh yay.

A Bit of a Crisis

Just getting ready to leave work and I got a phone call from the youngest niece.
Auntie Lauri, she says, we have a "probblem" at our house. Now, I'm picturing fire or locusts or something. She went on to tell me that somebody made a mistake and moved thier trash cans out in the street and her mama almost hit them with the car...but her dad got them out of the way. So, she says with great authority, it's not such a "probblum" anymore. I expressed my relief...then she says, hang on Laur, I gotta tell you one more thing...I love you very much...Click.
Not a bad way to start the weekend, my friends....that's what I'm talkin about.

Sunday Lunch

We went to my Auntie Carol's house for lunch on Sunday. It was getting pretty near Dad's nap time...and then my cousin Tim's little boy showed him a book on tractors. Dad right away perked up and told him all about the kind he had driven etc. See, all dad need's is a little tractor talk and he is good to go....ha

As you can see, the rest of us had fun too....

Flower power

My office mate recieved flowers from her husband, so I photographed the buds. I could have lied and told you I got 'em.... Anywhooo...went to the new patients class for the bypass surgery. I was so wishing that one of my siblings or one of my cool cousins were with me, cuz, some of the others in that class were so weird! One lady (who had a really bad hair do, frizzy and stuff) expressed a concern to the doctor about losing her hair with such rapid weight loss...I thought, chick, have you looked in a mirror, it might be a good thing. I know, I'm terrible. So, it looks like my next thing to do is make an appt with a therapist and then go to a lecture meeting with the surgeon. After that they send a request to my insurance company to do it...and then they schedule it. Depending on what your insurance requires, that's how long you have to wait. So, who knows...it might be soon. Kinda scary, huh? I'll be thin at the next VH reunion...you people won't even recognize me...I'll wear a shirt with my name on it, so you'll know who I am! So, please continue to pray that all goes well and I'll keep you apprised of the sitch....
